Henry E. "Monk" Clark was born in July of 1906 to parents James Edward and Harriet (Palmer) Clark in Redfield, South Dakota. He was the youngest of 9 children. Brought up in the area of White, South Dakota, that is where he received his eduction. Monk's Point at Lake Hendricks was named after him.


WW2: TEC 5 U.S. Army, served in South Pacific during World War II. Technician fifth grade (abbreviated T/5 or Tec 5) was a rank of the United States Army from 1942 to 1948.[1] The rank was created to recognize enlisted soldiers with special technical skills, but who were not trained as combat leaders
