Killed in jeep accident while serving with 52nd Fighter Control Squadron at an Army Air Base in Wilmington, N.C. during World War II. Wayne had married and lived in Jacksonville, Oregon prior to being stationed at the Army Air Base in Wilmington.


White, S.D. July23 - The first military funeral was held here the past week when the body of Sgt. Wayne Jensen was returned here for burial. Sgt. Jensen was located at Wilmington, N.C. and was killed in a car accident while on duty. His body accompanied by Corp. Don Walters. His mother, Mrs. Minnie Jensen lives in White and burial took place in the White cemetery. Wayne was married about 2 years ago. His wife lives in Oregon but was unable to attend the funeral service which was held at the Presbyterian church.
